On 16th November, our Causer Strength team took to the platform at the Southern Masters in Bethnal Green, delivering an outstanding performance across the board. Representing us were Louise Oldman, Alan Richards, Anna-Maria Rönnqvist, and Avery Hennings, each showcasing incredible grit and skill.
The day was a huge success, with the team bringing home four gold medals and everyone enjoying a fantastic day of weightlifting. Here's a quick recap of the highlights:
- Anna-Maria Rönnqvist made an incredible return to competition after nearly a decade away from the platform. She gave a flawless performance, going six for six, and proving that hard work and determination pay off.
- Avery Hennings, also returning to competition, achieved a significant milestone with their first-ever 80kg clean and jerk—a proud moment in their lifting journey.
- Alan Richards put in a strong performance, lifting just under his personal bests. He even took a shot at new records, which we're optimistic he'll conquer at the English Championships next week.
- Louise Oldman smashed it with personal bests on the platform, continuing her upward trajectory and showing the progress she's made in her training.
This event was a testament to the hard work and dedication of our lifters, and we're thrilled with the results. A big thank you to everyone who supported the team, and congratulations to all the athletes on their fantastic achievements.
